It’s Old Art O’clock at Irving Towers this sticky, sweaty, British evening. Due to all my latest arts being under wraps for the moment, and due to those arts taking up all my drawing time, I have nothing new to show you curious kitties.
To fill that gap I am offering you a cover to 2000AD 1551, which heralded the start of “The Hitman’s Daughter”, the 4th installment of the “Button Man” series created by John Wagner and Arthur Ranson (dear Arthur drew the first 3, whilst I got the gig for volume 4, lucky scamp that I am).
The cover depicts Adelle, the aforementioned Daughter of the Hitman. Adelle was initially based upon my fellow comic artist Fiona Staples (who also did the colouring on the interior pages of the strip) which is partially why I chose this image to post, having just read SAGA from Image Comics. If I can spread the Good Word about a Good Comic, then I will do so using pictures.
I’m also itching to do some fanart for it, most likely “The Stalk”. Maybe when my current workload has eased off a bit I will attempt a morning warm-up doing just that.
Now if it would just rain a little…
